This week, we hit-up the Magic tradeshow in Las Vegas for the PROJECT
MVMNT portion of the show, which specifically featured all of the
lifestyle & street-wear brands & companies in the industry including
Diamond Supply Co., Crooks & Castles, Staple, OG Abel, T.I.T.S.,
Sullen Clothing & a bunch of up & coming brands as well. After
previously having met-up w/ a lot of new potential customers at the
Agenda tradeshow, we’ve been trying our best to build good relations
w/ all of these new brands. The tradeshow went well & the exhibitors
seemed pleased w/ the turn-out of those who attended.
The exhibiting brand that stood-out the most was from Ruslan & SSUR
who drew inspiration from Mexican drug cartels in regards to the theme
of their booth. Their area was decorated w/ very-graphic imagery
including a chopped-up body, cocaine, & high-powered machine-guns, all
representing the cost of doing business involving drugs as the
product. It surely isn’t anything to glorify, but it’s reality & is
what it took to arouse everyone’s attention & definitely was the most
effective in it’s regard for the entire show. Crowds of people were
taking pictures & the crazy thing was their decision NOT to display
any product whatsoever!
Another booth that was getting a good-amount of attention was Last
King’s booth w/ rapper Tyga alongside.
I would have to say that it definitely was worth the drive to meet all
of these various brands, companies, artists, designers & others.
Hopefully we will get the chance to work together w/ a few of these
very-talented people in the coming years!
